The Vigorelli is named after an equally iconic velodrome in Milan, Italy. Where once legends were made, now ‘American-Style-Football’ is played. It was, at one time, the ‘fastest velodrome in the world’. When the greats of Cycling’s Golden Age went head to head for the immortality that was the Hour Record, this was where the battle raged.
But what of the bike that bears it’s name? Made out of Columbus Airplane Aluminum Tubing, the frame is light and stiff. A carbon fork up front keeps the stiffness and shaves weight. Traditional English-Threaded BB keeps everything simple and the frameset comes with a Columbus Integrated Headset.
We went with the Italo ’79 colorway for 2013 because we fell in love with the yellow seat and chain stays. We’ll be selling these fully built at a to-be-determined-price or just as framesets for $799. If you’re looking to tear up the boards this year at Blaine, or just a sweet fixed ride, this is the bike to do it with.
