Early Rider // New!

om_er_1

You may not know this, but we really dig kid’s bikes.

And it wasn’t always this way. We used to think : ‘Heck, it probably doesn’t matter much anyways. They’ll just ruin it/hate it/be indifferent towards it’. We do not think that way anymore. A good experience with that first bike can make all the difference. We just didn’t see anything out there worthwhile.

That was until Early Rider came along.

Fresh out of Great Britain and with style to spare, Early Rider makes strider bikes that I want to ride (unfortunately, not that tall yet). We’ve just obtained a couple of their 2013 bicycles and are very excited to share them with you. If you have a little one and are trying to find a way to get them hooked early, this is the way to do it. Check it all out after the cut –

First up : The Classic $179.99

I’m sure you’ve already noticed – It sure is a looker. Why should your kid ride just another garish, neon-something hunk of metal when wood just might be the ideal material for a strider bike? Lightweight, durable – and as we’ve said before – it looks great. The frame is made out of Marine-Grade hardwood composite, which means it’s water-resistant, scratch-resistant and most importantly can take a beating. And let’s be honest, kids aren’t exactly known to take it easy on their rides (or their knees, elbows, barbies, etc…). Not only this, but all Early Riders are EN71 compliant, which makes them the only strider bikes deemed safe for Children under the age of 3. Period.

Some technical points :

– Aluminum Alloy Wheels w/ Sealed Bearing Hubs (nicer than some of the wheels I ride…)

– Marine-Grade Hardwood Composite Frame with Aluminum reinforced Headset

– 14” Front Wheel, 12” Rear for better handling and balance

– Faux leather Saddle and Foam grips (which come in a variety of colors)

– 2-Bolt Adjustable Seat Hight

– Adjustable turning radius. Restricted for newer riders, full freedom for more advanced ones

– Meant for Ages 2 to 4 and a Half

But what about if you want to start them even younger?

Next Up : The Lite $179.99

Just as good looking, but replace that 14” front wheel with a 12” and you’ve got yourself a Lite. Same great Marine-Grade wood frame. Same great sealed bearing wheels. Same great adjustability. It’s everything the Classic is, but for the younger one’s in your life. Get them started off on the right foot.
